Rap music. Vulgar or inspiring? Teenagers set the tone!

In a spontaneous class discussion our teachers found out how their teenage students perceive rap and hip-hop music in a very unconventional manner.
Teens seem to focus on the inspirational side of rap songs and are indifferent towards issues adults hold for disturbing, for the usual. Ascpects as the vulgar language used, a materialistic approach to the female body , apotheosis of lavishness contrary to livelihood and of course fearless mingling with substance abuse don't prevent them from advocating for rap music.
In the proccess of creating this free ebook our student, Marianne Patsialide, came across stunning facts regarding the African origin of rap music and the healing properties of music in this day and age as well as when slavery and torment were social reality.
